We’re delighted to share some amazing news from our work in partnership with Sport England.
As part of this project, we’re partnering with seven incredible community organisations to deliver our programmes and help create even more leadership opportunities for young people.
We’re excited to now introduce all seven of our new partners:
Single Homeless Project: based in London, this incredible charity aims to end sleeping rough and create a city where everyone has a chance to live a fulfilling life. They support 10,000 people every year, offering Londoners to chance to develop vital life skills through activities including sport as well as education and employment training.
Al-Hurraya: located in Derby and Nottingham, Al-Hurraya help young people in Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) communities to overcome multiple adversities, including addiction and crime, to fulfil their full potential. Their mission is to empower young people – particularly those from marginalised and underrepresented communities – through culturally competent support, mentoring, and positive role modelling. In addition, they offer mentorship for young people not in education, employment or training (NEETs) by providing sport and fitness workshops.
Sport Birmingham: as the city’s Active Partnership, Sport Birmingham is an independent charity working towards a five-year strategy focusing on five key priorities: reducing inactivity, developing a workforce, connecting communities, improving life skills and making sport inclusive.
Bee Active: with the aim of inspiring children in Stoke-on-Trent to value physical activity through outstanding education and positive experiences, Bee Active employs a dedicated team of experienced, qualified and energetic coaches to offer innovative and engaging programmes through a broad network of partners and customers.
Team Mushin Brazilian Ju Jitsu: from their base in Norris Green, Liverpool, Team Mushin is a wonderful non-profit martial arts academy that is right at the heart of the local community. They offer classes for children, beginners and adults as well as a family-like environment where everyone is welcome and supported through life’s challenges and obstacles.
IMO Charity: Inspire Motivate Overcome (IMO) is a community-based organisation working tirelessly with under-represented groups in Blackburn and Darwen in Lancashire to provide a single platform for young people to empower themselves by improving their health, education and understanding of local safety, employment and cohesion.
Beyond the Bias: established during the Covid pandemic, Beyond the Bias was initially created in response to the urgent need to support young people from Black and Global Majority backgrounds across London. Their incredible projects aim to address cuts to youth services by offering diverse programmes and activities which inspire, engage and encourage positive physical and mental health.
We are extremely excited to be working with all these organisations, who are already doing incredible work to support young people in their local communities.
