We recommend that you allocate 2-3 hours, in total, to cover the administration of the course, develop your course plan and meet with your Internal Verifier prior to and post- course delivery.
Is the course expected to be delivered over one or two years or is this flexible?
The duration of your course is completely flexible and will be dependant on whether you deliver the programme on your curriculum timetable or as an enrichment offer. We suggest that the Level 1 and 2 qualifications can be delivered successfully within an academic year, but you have the flexibility to deliver over a longer time period, if required.
How is the programme expected to be delivered?
The qualifications that underpin the Esports Leaders programme have been designed to be delivered face to face with learners, whether that be in person or virtually. The tutor resources have been designed to complement both delivery models and the suggested leadership activities can be delivered through an esports activity or within a generic context. The demonstration of leadership hours must be completed through an esports activity. Please refer to the specifications for the relevant qualification level you will be delivering.

We have developed the following resources:
• Tutor PowerPoints
• Internal Verification paperwork
• Learner Evidence records (LER)

I have learners with SEN. What do you have to support me with their learning and assessment needs?
Although we provide resources for you and your learners to use to complete the course, the use of these in the form they are provided is not mandatory. As the person that best understands the needs of your learners, you can adapt the delivery of the course content to ensure all learners have an equitable opportunity to learn. For the assessment of your learners all we ask is that you let us know how you would like to adapt your learners' access to assessment by following the Reasonable Adjustments Policy.
What happens if a learner isn't able to complete the qualification due to illness?
Please refer to our Special Considerations Policy for guidance relating to all scenarios outside of a learner's control that might prevent them completing the qualification. It may be that a special consideration for parts of the assessment can be given in lieu of them being able to complete it.
What support is given to tutors?
Tutors delivering the qualification will be able to attend a virtual CPD session at the beginning of the academic year, and will receive a copy of the training recording to refer back to as and when required. We also provide three eLearning modules to support staff delivering the following roles: Tutor, Centre Manager and Internal Verifier. These modules take approx. 30-45-minutes to complete and are free to access.A member of the Leadership Skills Foundation will also be on hand to answer any questions and to support throughout the duration of your course delivery.
How are learners assessed for the qualification?
The qualification includes a mix of theory and competence based criteria. For the theory elements, learners must provide evidence that they understand relevant concepts and information. They will do this by providing written, spoken or other forms of evidence in or alongside their learner evidence record. The tutor will assess if this evidence meets the minimum requirements, set out in the qualification specification. For the practically-based aspects of the course, the tutor will complete written observations to provide evidence of that the learner said and did.

Does every element of the course have to be delivered through esports games?
When learners are completing the demonstration of leadership elements of the course, they must plan and lead esports games and/or esports related activities. However, a large part of the course is concerned with learners developing their essential leadership skills and many activities that will support them to do this will not be directly esports based. With this in mind, some sessions may well take place without the need to access computers or devices.
Do I need to have lots of different consoles or the latest state of the art Esports facilities to deliver this programme?
No, absolutely not. The course, teaching resources, and assessment guidelines have been carefully designed to ensure that learners can have a fantastic leadership experience using a mixture of 'plugged' and 'unplugged' teaching, learning and assessment methodologies. Having access to 1 console or PC capable of running an esports game is sufficient. The more consoles and/or PCs available, the larger the participation in your esports event.
