Team Super Sports is a private coaching and sports camp business located in the midlands of England. They work with schools in the area to deliver camps covering a variety of sports during holidays.
They have recently begun including programmes from the Leadership Skills Foundation as part of their delivery, empowering a generation of future leaders.
How long have you been working with the Leadership Skills Foundation?
Team Super Sports conducted our first program during Easter 2023.
What project/challenge/problem was your organisation looking to achieve by delivering our programmes?
We take pride in providing high-quality sports camps for all age groups, from 5 to 16 years old. With a range of sports on offer, children can take control of their skill development and choose their preferred sport for each session. However, in recent years, we observed a decline in participation among children aged 14 and above. As a result, we sought opportunities for this age group to continue benefiting from our services.
What made you choose the Leadership Skills Foundation to support you with your aims?
Selecting the Leadership Skills Foundation was an easy decision. From the initial inquiry to the programme’s delivery, we received excellent support and maintained consistent communication. Initially, we had reservations about running our programme over just five days, as this was different from many other providers. However, with reassurance and guidance from the Leadership Skills Foundation team, we were able to plan a seamless delivery.
What have been the delivered outcomes from working with the Leadership Skills Foundation?
We are extremely proud to have successfully delivered three high-quality Level 1 sports leadership courses to nearly 60 future leaders. These individuals have proactively organised volunteering opportunities at our upcoming camps, supporting us in maintaining our commitment to delivering an outstanding and distinctive holiday camp experience.
What have been the short and long-term impacts of this work on the target groups or individuals?
In the short term, our collaboration with Leadership Skills Foundation has enabled us to continue serving our older, long-time users of our holiday camps who might have otherwise outgrown the programme. It has also allowed us to engage with enthusiastic athletes in the area who were previously unfamiliar with Team Super Sports, providing them with the skills to secure employment and pursue careers in sports.
In the long term, we aim to maintain a close partnership with our course graduates to strengthen our coaching teams across multiple venues. We intend to offer them opportunities for paid work and further personal development.
